Dewpoint Home Page

Dewpoint Magazine is a literary magazine designed to showcase the best original poetry, prose, and critical works by students at The University of Alabama. During the 2022 academic year, the Phi Xi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta decided to take our award winning publication to the online realm. While Dewpoint has been produced in the past, the current Sigma Tau Delta executive council is dedicated to getting the works of students showcased and the Dewpoint publication back up and running. That being said, welcome to the first volume of Dewpoint Digital. We can’t wait to see what our readers have to say about the great works we have chosen for this year’s publication. Enjoy!

A Letter From the Editor

Hello and welcome to Dewpoint Magazine! Sigma Tau Delta is extremely excited about Dewpoint joining the digital world because of how easily it can now provide creative outlets for aspiring writers. As an executive council, we have so many exciting things planned this year with Dewpoint, so be sure to stick around! Dewpoint allows any student to upload their incredible pieces of writing for others to read and admire, so do not hesitate to submit your own pieces of work. A lot of opportunities will be sent through your crimson email, so keep a lookout for that as well. If you have any interest in sending in your work or wanting to submit an application to join Sigma Tau Delta, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are all so excited about this upcoming year!

More About Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Xi

Sigma Tau Delta is an internationally recognized honor society that focuses on the personal and professional development of English students. The University of Alabama has an outstanding chapter (Phi Xi) that actively works to better its members through study sessions, convention and writing workshops, philanthropy projects and more.

This year, Alabama’s chapter inducted 18 new members, which after a lull in membership caused by the pandemic, was a huge accomplishment. We also worked towards our philanthropic goals by powering with our own member, Jolie Money, and her organization, Empowered By Reading, to collect books for Matthew Elementary. We also hosted our own, internal book drive where we collected 29 books for the Tuscaloosa Public Library.

This year was a year of so much growth and rebuilding, and we are only going up from here. If you would like to get involved with Sigma Tau Delta in the future, please fill out the form below. This is truly one of the best opportunities on campus.
